The Allen & Heath SQ5+ brings next-generation processing, expanded effects, and an improved control experience to one of the most trusted digital mixing platforms in live sound. Built around Allen & Heath’s powerful 96kHz XCVI FPGA engine, the SQ5+ delivers exceptional audio quality, ultra-low latency, and the flexibility required for professional live production, houses of worship, touring systems, installations, and recording applications.

A redesigned interface centers around a bright 9-inch capacitive touchscreen, giving engineers more room to navigate channels, processing, routing, meters, and effects while retaining the fast workflow the SQ series is known for. The console also features 17 motorized 100mm faders and 8 programmable SoftKeys, making frequently used functions immediately accessible during a show.

Powerful 96kHz Processing

At the heart of the SQ5+ is Allen & Heath’s XCVI 96kHz FPGA processing architecture. The system provides up to 48 input processing channels along with extensive routing and mixing capability while maintaining extremely low system latency.

Each input channel includes professional processing tools such as parametric EQ, dynamics, filtering, and access to Allen & Heath’s DEEP processing architecture, allowing premium processing models to be integrated directly into your workflow.

Expanded Effects with RackUltra

The SQ5+ significantly expands the effects capabilities of the SQ platform.

In addition to 8 Multi-FX engines, the console includes 4 dedicated RackUltra FX engines for more advanced effects processing.

Included RackUltra FX Essentials provide options such as:

Flexible I/O and Expansion

The SQ5+ includes 16 onboard XLR microphone/line inputs along with multiple stereo inputs and professional output connectivity.

For larger systems, its 128-channel SLink port allows connection to compatible Allen & Heath stage boxes and remote I/O systems, making it easy to expand beyond the console’s local inputs.

A 64-channel I/O expansion slot also supports optional networking cards for systems such as Dante or Waves, allowing the mixer to integrate into sophisticated audio networks and recording environments.

Multitrack Recording and USB Audio

The built-in 32 x 32 USB audio interface allows direct multitrack recording and playback with a Mac or PC without requiring a separate audio interface.

For standalone recording, SQ-Drive enables multichannel audio recording directly to compatible USB storage devices.

This makes the SQ5+ equally comfortable behind a live PA system, inside a recording workflow, or handling virtual soundchecks.

Automatic Mic Mixing

For conferences, presentations, worship services, panel discussions, and other speech-heavy applications, the SQ5+ provides Automatic Mic Mixing for up to 48 channels.

This helps manage multiple open microphones while maintaining a cleaner, more controlled overall mix.
