The Shure Beta 98H/C is a miniature condenser instrument microphone with an in-line preamplifier designed to clearly capture the sounds of today's professional horn and woodwind players. The mic features a clamping mechanism that attaches to the bell of a wind instrument or the rim of a percussion instrument, while an integrated gooseneck and ratcheting swivel joint ensure secure, optimal positioning. Once the position is determined, the gooseneck angle brace ensures that the Beta 98H/C will stay in place during even the most active performances.
The cardioid pickup pattern of the Beta 98H/C provides high gain-before-feedback and excellent rejection of unwanted noise. With a high maximum sound pressure level (SPL) up to 132 dB, the Beta 98H/C is ready to handle the demands of brass and woodwind instruments and is a strong performer for percussion applications. The 10' XLR cable features a wired, in-line, transformerless preamplifier circuit designed to deliver a linear response across the mic's full frequency range. The microphone requires 11 to 52V phantom power for operation.
